Caribbean Ensemble Concert at UT Bates
Hall
;
Dinner at BRIO Arboretum
Wednesday, November 13, $51 pp
Depart SCPL 4 p.m.; Return 10:45 p.m.
This “gem” of a perfor-
mance hall with its rich array of musicians
brings all kinds of music from around the
world. Tonight we will hear a 12-piece en-
semble comprised of UT students. They will
perform festive music from the Caribbean and Hispanic cul-
tures. We’ve previously attended jazz, classical and organ
concerts performed by these students―and now for something
totally different! The one and one half hour performance with
drums, percussion, guitars, keyboard and more will have us
moving in our seats along with their music.
Before the concert we are headed to BRIO in the Arboretum
where we’ll experience the flavors of Tuscany without leav-
ing the country. Our specially prepared meal begins with
Field Greens Salad mixed with cheese, pine nuts, tomatoes
and balsamic dressing. Our center cut Pork Chop, marinated
and seared on the grill, will be accompanied by Penne Pasta
Mediterranean. The pasta is tossed with sun-dried tomatoes,
mushrooms, feta cheese, spinach and caramelized onions.
Dessert will be their special milk chocolate caramel cake.
Iced tea, soda and coffee are included.
Note: There are a few steps to enter the hall and a walk
to reach the elevator/stairs.
Ticket cost includes transportation, dinner and concert. Dead-
line to purchase tickets is November 5.
