with outstanding food and drink. With one of Charles Dickens’
direct descendants there to celebrate with us, this is sure to be
an evening to remember!
Saturday:
After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit Dickens on
The Strand, an enchanted journey through history as a bustling
19th century cityscape comes to life. Victorian-era costumed
characters provide a look into British pomp and pageantry. The
festival includes parades, non-stop stage entertainment, plus
strolling carolers and street musicians, bagpipers and enter-
tainers. Costumed vendors peddle their wares – tasty culinary
delights and Victorian-inspired crafts, clothing, jewelry, holiday
decorations and gift items – just in time for the holidays. As a
part of the Queen’s Parade, QueenVictoriawill greet her subjects
froman elegant horse-drawn carriage drapedwith garlands. Our
bus will be on a regular schedule to take you to and from the
festival and hotel, so you can make multiple visits to the Strand
and go back to rest at the hotel when you wish.
Saturday night dinner will be on your own. Choose a restaurant
near the festival or at the hotel, or join others as the bus takes
us to a local restaurant.
