Veterans Day Activities Tuesday, November 11
The annual Veterans Day Ceremony
is a special event to honor those vet-
erans who have served in our military
forces and those men and women who
are serving today. This year’s event
will be held on Tuesday, November 11
at 11 a.m. The Georgetown High School
band, orchestra and choir will provide
music beginning at 10: 45 a.m. The
guest speaker will be Lt. Gen. Sean B.
MacFarland, Commanding General, III
Corps and Fort Hood. One of the trees
behind the Memorial Wall and a plaque
will be dedicated to retired Army Col.
Don Lee Hays. Wreaths will be placed at
the Memorial Wall and the Williamson
County Memorial Wall.
Parking is available at the Social Center
at 2 Texas Drive and across the street at
the Activities Center at 1 Texas Drive.
Seven-hundred folding chairs will be
placed at the Memorial or guests are
invited to bring a folding chair and sit
under the trees. The Community Asso-
ciation will serve refreshments on the
Social Center patio after the ceremony.

Sun City Texas Softball Club veterans
will join forces with the Texas Longhorns
for a fun, slow-pitch Veterans Day match
up! Root for your team - the “Stars” or
the “Stripes” at McCombs Field in Aus-
tin; the fun begins at 6 p.m., admission
is free and parking is free in UT lots
103 and 115. You can also invite your
neighbors over to watch the game live
on the Longhorn Network (Suddenlink
