N
ovember has always been the
month to reflect on the many
things I am thankful for in my
life. For the last 19 years, being a part of
Sun City Texas has ranked high on my
list. Though there is more to be grate-
ful for within our community that I can
express in this short article, I will try
to touch upon some of the crucial things
that bring us all together.
To begin with, I am thankful to work in
a community that is beautiful, well main-
tained, and has the resources to support
our facilities and grounds properly. Our
property is beautiful, and though we are
in the midst of one of the worst droughts
in Texas history, we look good.
My wife Jerri and I love to watch
House
Hunters
, and my ears always perk up
when they mention how much the HOA
assessments are per month in other
communities; rarely are they as low as
ours, especially when the community
provides amenities as considerable as
those of Sun City Texas. I am thankful
that we are able to provide the level of
creature comforts at reasonable assess-
ments in comparison to other amenity-
rich associations.
As stated in my October
Sun Rays
ar-
ticle, I hold the utmost love and appre-
ciation for our volunteers; without them
and our great staff, we would not be the
world-class community we are today. Our
volunteers give countless hours to the
community and willingly share an un-
paralleled knowledge base for the benefit
of us all. All of us should be thankful for
our many volunteers and for their time
and dedication, not only to our commu-
nity, but also to the greater Williamson
County area.
Speaking of volunteers, I am also thank-
ful for the many fiscally-savvy members
who have served on our Finance Com-
mittee over the years. These folks have
helped to guide us into the financially
sound situation we enjoy today and their
efforts have paid off in huge dividends
to the CA.
It is always enjoyable to show around
guests who have never been in our com-
munity and to see the amazement in their
eyes and hear comments like “I never
knew this place was here” or “It is like
Disneyland.” As your Executive Director,
I am thankful to work in a community
that truly cares about the lifestyle of its
residents and provides amenities, activi-
ties, and events to enhance the lifestyle
for our residents and guests.
As you read this article and browse
through the rest of this month’s
Sun Rays
,
I hope you, too, are thankful for the won-
derful communications we provide here
in Sun City Texas. Our
Sun Rays
is first-
class, and I amvery thankful for our team
who consistently and professionally pub-
lish it while managing the many other
communication avenues here in our com-
munity. I hope that our communications
keep you informed and well-versed on the
many activities of our busy homestead. I
amalso excited about the newwebsite that
will debut next year, and am confident the
community will embrace it as well.
In closing, thank you for allowing me and
our team to be a part of your community
and life. I will always cherish my time at
Sun City Texas and hope that I will be a
part of your community for many years
to come. Thank you all and I wish each of
you and your families awonderful Thanks-
giving.
Let’s Communicate!
