Try out the fastest-growing sport around!
Pickleball!
Similar to ping pong, badminton, and
tennis, it’s a fun, active game that can
be mastered by anyone, from youth to
senior citizens.
Pickleball is played on a badminton-like
court with the net lowered to 34 inches,
and uses a perforated plastic ball (similar
to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite
paddles.
Contrary to how many begin playing the
game, the goal is not to score points by
outhitting opponents with power; rather,
finesse often is the difference as points
are best scored by hitting the ball at
tough angles and placing it at the feet
of opponents.
Seniors love the social aspects and
the ability to stay active and fit
, and
players call it the most addicting sport
ever! Be prepared for laughter and meet-
ing new friends. Pickleball is a great way
to meet new people and play a game that
is right for a variety of skill levels and
ages. It is a fun, easy sport to learn! Come
swing a paddle with us and enjoy one of
the fastest growing sports in America.

Newly retired or a new resident to Sun
City Texas? Looking for a fun hobby that
you never had time to pursue? We build
them and we run them: airplanes, sail-
boats, helicopters, powerboats, cars, and
off-roaders. Come and learn how to do
it with a group just like you―we have
lots of members, men and women, new
to the hobby along with some seasoned
hobbyists who will show you how. We’re
just over two years old and we’ve grown
to more than 140 members. We even have
a computer-controlled Flight Simulator
if you don’t want to do the “live stuff.”
We “fly it” at the weekly meetings. We
also fly heli’s and small airplanes in the
Ballroom one Sunday a month and do
other “fun stuff” at Berry Creek Pond
and our off-site flying location for the
gas and large airplanes.
December schedule:
No Ballroom Fly-
In for December; Boating at Berry Creek
Pond Sunday, December 29, 1 p.m. Oh
yes, informal sailing every Tuesday and
Saturday at 10 a.m. at Berry Creek Pond.
We fly small electric airplanes on the golf
course driving ranges on Monday’s when
a course is closed for play. We also fly
every evening at the Cowan Creek driv-
ing range after the pro-shop is closed. We
need light wind conditions to fly so our
flying usually takes place in the early
mornings or evenings. If you see us out
flying, stop by and say hello.

ericksburg.
Trips in 2014 have been announced―for
February to Big Bend National Park, and
for October to the Albuquerque Interna-
tional Balloon Fiesta. Additional trips
are being planned for 2014. Details and
contact information are available on the
website. Members are encouraged to sign
up as soon as possible.
The RV club brings together those resi-
dents of our active lifestyle community
who also enjoy the RV lifestyle. The re-
sult is a great combination for friend-
ships, travel and adventure. We currently
number nearly 100 rigs of virtually every
style and configuration. Our members
organize group RV trips to a wide variety
of destinations throughout the year; they
are listed on our website. We meet once
a month except June, July and August
when many of our members are away
traveling. Interested residents can find
membership and other information on the
club website or from our contact above.
