AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM
Volunteers are needed for AARP’s tax-
aide program, which is the nation’s largest
volunteer-run tax assistance and prepara-
tion service for low- and medium-income
taxpayers. If you like working with num-
bers and computers, being a tax-aidemight
be right for you; however, if you just like
working and meeting with people, maybe
being a tax-aide greeter and intake coun-
selor is your calling.
The program provides tax preparation
training, which includes approximately
40 hours of tax code, AARP policies, and
computer applications. AARP reimburs-
es active tax-aides for mileage. Tax-aide
volunteers generally donate 40 hours of
their time over a 10-week period begin-
ning February 2014 and ending April 15,
2014. Sites are located in Georgetown at
Sun City Texas and at The Caring Place.
To join a great team, you can call toll-free

tion form at

club to raise thousands of dollars, and is
made possible by the generous donations
of people of Sun City, businesses in and
aroundGeorgetown, andRotarians. Using
a wish list from the child, we buy, wrap,
and distribute the presents to the families.
