Meeting
Let’s kick off 2015 and chase away the
winter blahs with hot cocoa, coffee and
cookies. During the social time, you will
have an opportunity to get your garden-
ing questions answered by a Master Gar-
dener, share plants and seeds or check
out a book from our gardening library.
Our program, Garden Photography, will
provide an opportunity to view beautiful
photos that will surely make you think
of spring and give you ideas for your own
yards. Garden Club photographers Cyn-
thia Miller and Judy Aishman will share
simple techniques, no matter what kind
of equipment you use, for taking awesome
shots to create lifetime memories of your
Sun City yard. Meeting agenda items will
also include Gardening Tips of the Month
and Plant of the Month

or online on the Sun City Texas website.
Individual dues are $12 for new and re-
newing members, and a second person in

nic areas, such as the San Gabriel River
Trail and Lake Georgetown’s Goodwater
Loop, but also more far-flung locations,
such as Enchanted Rock State Natural
Area and Colorado Bend State Park.
Participants can choose their individual
level of hike difficulty, with trails varying
from four to 12 miles in length. Potential
members are welcome to take part in an
introductory hike. Instructions for apply-
ing for membership are accessed on the
club website by clicking on Contact Us >

also contains helpful guidelines on hike
procedures and equipment. Activities

Horseshoe Courts
Contact: Tom Minor, 512-863-9811
Newly arrived homeowners have been
joining our club, but we need more play-
ers. Long-time residents are missing out
on fun and fellowship! Many of you have
played horseshoes in parks and at family
picnics, so what are you waiting for to
join us? Our club maintains 10 well-kept
courts, so come on down!
Shuffleboard SIG
Sun City Texas has an active Shuffle-
board group; approximately 20 indi-
viduals belong to the Shuffleboard SIG
and 20 other residents also play at the
two courts (adjacent to Bocce Courts,
and next to Horseshoes and Washers).
The courts are open every day to resi-
dents. Although there is no league play,
members of the SIG and other residents
gather at the courts at
1 p.m.
every Tues-
day and Thursday to play for one hour.
Newcomers are welcome to join us any
time. If you have not played in the past
and would like to be introduced to the
game at a time other than 1 p.m. Tues-
days and Thursdays, email Tom Rice at

this month in our vegetable gardens.
