Meeting
Taking place in November will be our
annual business meeting with the elec-
tion of our 2015 officers. Our “Holiday
Tables” program will follow. Linda Atlee
will decorate tabletops while we observe
her creative artistry. Be sure to come at
12:30 p.m. for a surprise social time treat.
You can also get your gardening ques-
tions answered by a Master Gardener,
take home a plant or some seeds from
the sharing table and make some new
friends. There will be plenty of door prizes.
Please note that the November meeting
is at The Oaks.
Membership
The Garden Club is one of the fastest
growing chartered clubs in Sun City and
we invite you to join us. Fromamateurs to
experts, our gardeners all have one thing
in common – a yard! Beginning November
4, dues for 2015 can be paid at meetings or
on the Sun City website. Individual dues
are $12 for new and renewing members.
A second member of the same household
can join for total family dues of $20.
November Yard of the Month
Congratulations to Hank and Vun Ziegler!
You may have visited their yard last May
at the annual Sun City Garden Tour and
nowwe are pleased to feature them again.

but also more far-flung locations, such as
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area and
Colorado Bend State Park. Participants
can choose their individual level of hike
difficulty, with trails varying from four
to 12 miles in length. Potential members
are welcome to take part in an introduc-
tory hike. Instructions for applying for
membership are accessed by clicking on

extensive website also contains helpful

ment. Activities during November include

Horseshoe Courts
Contact: Tom Minor, 512-863-9811
Newly arrived homeowners have been
joining our club, but we need more play-
ers. Long-time residents are missing out
on fun and fellowship! Many of you have
played horseshoes in parks and at family
picnics, so what are you waiting for to
join us? Our club maintains 10 well-kept
courts, so come on down!
Shuffleboard SIG
Sun City Texas has an active Shuffle-
board group; approximately 20 indi-
viduals belong to the Shuffleboard SIG
and 20 other residents also play at the
two courts (adjacent to Bocce Courts,
and next to Horseshoes and Washers).
The courts are open every day to resi-
dents. Although there is no league play,
members of the SIG and other residents
gather at the courts at
9 a.m.
every Tues-
day and Thursday to play for one hour.
Newcomers are welcome to join us any
time. If you have not played in the past
and would like to be introduced to the
game at a time other than 9 a.m. Tues-
days and Thursdays, email Tom Rice at
