Newmembers
: Sign up for Orientation
& Safety Training at the woodshop.
The Woodworkers Club invites you to
stop by the woodshop and see the many
wood projects and craft items for sale.
We’d be happy to give you a guided tour
of our facility, talk about your idea for a
wood project, or just talk.
The Woodworkers Club is open to all Sun
City Texas residents of all skill levels. All
new members are required to take the
Orientation and Safety Class, as well as
a one-on-one, hands-on Safety Training
Session.
Our training classes and extensive li-
brary, paper and digital, help our mem-
bers plan projects and enjoy woodwork-
ing.
We have several main club projects we
participate in during the year, including:
“Toys for Tots,” to provide wooden toys
for less fortunate children at Christmas;
and “Camp Discovery,” to provide wooden
kit projects to a summer camp for chil-
dren fighting cancer.
To raise funds for these projects, we sell
craft items at the woodshop throughout
the year, perform furniture repair at the
woodshop and sell craft items at the An-
nual Hill Country Fall Craft Fair.
Special Interest Group
Woodcarvers: Beginners to experi-
enced—all are welcome. Contact Karl
Fiedler at 512-818-4156 or karlandme@
suddenlink.net for more information.
Meetings are each Monday from 6-9 p.m.
and Tuesday from 8:30-11 a.m.

Social Activities
Zoomers has very active social groups
which include those with special interest
in books, table games, bowling, movies,
dining out, gourmet cooking, and wine
and beer tasting. In addition, there is one
group that sponsors a luncheon with a
speaker focusing on health, beauty and/
or wellness.
ZOE (Outside Events)
Our Zoomers coordinators have been
very busy setting up theater trips, day
excursions and extended trips for our
members in 2014. We will continually
bring out new events throughout the
year. Presently we do have on the books
a Best of Britain, Boston and Cape Cod,
American Parks and a Sound of Music
trip. We are currently working on a New
England Cruise in the fall, an Africa
Safari trip and an exciting Christmas
Market cruise. We hope you will continue
to travel with us in 2014.

RARE WHITE SQUIRREL
Ed McCrary took this picture of a white squirrel at the corner of Cattle Trail Way
and Falcon St. “He ran across the road in front of me, and then was nice enough
to pose in the tree until I could get my camera,” Ed said.
