Monday night is Social Billiards. This is
a great opportunity for ladies and couples
to play or learn to play with no pressure.
Just drop in and have some fun! Begin-
ners are encouraged and folks show up
anytime after 6 p.m.
Members are eligible for lessons, tourna-
ments and special billiards parties. Our
stereo system plays background music,
the televisions show financial news in the
mornings and news and sports the rest
of the day. We are a wi-fi hot spot, too!
Our players range from beginners to ex-
pert. The annual dues are $11 for each
member. Applications are available in
the Billiards Center and online at Sun
City website ticketing.

Bocce Club members play Monday
through Saturday; start times during
February are usually at 1 p.m. Mem-
bers select their times according to the
weather and personal schedules. New
players and guests are always welcome!
The last session of league play in 2013
produced the following winners: First
– Don Webb; Second – Harry Daw; and
Third – Nick Drury.
Don Webb, Larry Hunting, and Janet
Lull were given special recognition at
the Bocce Club Christmas party –for
winning the most games in league play
in 2013.
The first Bocce League of 2014 starts
on February 4 and will run for five
weeks. At least two Couples Leagues
are planned in 2014, as well as several
one-day events.
New officers for 2014 are: Bill Temple-
man, President; Jerry Loft, Vice Presi-
dent; Janet Lull, Treasurer; Russ Ruff,
Secretary; and Karen Saunders and Lois
Hammelman, Members-At-Large.

This month, both dances will feature care-
fully selected recorded music for a wide
range of dances, such as Foxtrot, Waltz,
Rumba, Cha Cha, East and West Coast
Swing, Bolero, Samba, Night Club Two
Step, Tango, and Merengue.
Guests are very welcome to both of
these dances—come anddancewithus!
Water is provided for the regular monthly
dance, which is BYOB. Live bands will be
featured in a number of future monthly
dances.
Hot and iced tea is provided for the Tea
Dance on Sunday afternoons. You are en-
couraged to bring your own special teacup,
and mix and mingle with other members.

Dance Classes:
We offer dance classes
based on a 7-week session, offered each
Monday and Tuesday evening—the cur-
rent session runs throughMarch 4. Dance
classes this session include: Beginning
Waltz, Beginning Night Club Two Step,
Beginning Cha Cha, Beginning Bolero,
and Variations in Argentine Tango.

Membership:
$12 annually. Covers ad-
mission to monthly dances with recorded

February means Valentine’s Day. We
will be having a sweetheart mixed
scotch doubles tournament on Satur-
day, February 15. Spectators are always
welcome—come by and watch the fun!
The Billiard Center is open from 8 a.m.
to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and
8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Spirituality Anonymous Group
meets the third Wednesday, February
19 at 7 p.m. at Cowan Creek to discuss
various topics related to contemporary
questions about spirituality; how it affects
our life, our attitude, our purpose, even
our health. Guest speakers are invited
to share their insights and participants
are given an opportunity to join in lively

The Qigong Exercise Group
will help
you start your day with enhanced energy.
It meets each Monday, Wednesday and
Friday mornings at 8 a.m. in the Atrium.
The Healing Energy Group
will meet
on February 13 and 27 at 10 a.m. in AC
Meeting Room 3. Come and learn how
energy works to promote health and heal-
ing. If you are a practitioner and want to
have a place to practice your skills, come
and join the group.

Aviation Club

Become a member of one of Sun City’s
earliest chartered clubs. Aviation brings
folks together, so they can recall and rem-
inisce about days when they and their
friends and colleagues were more actively
involved in the industry. All are invited
to visit; membership is not limited to
pilots, but to anyone with an interest in
aircraft, aviation history or the aviation
community. Dues are $12 a year.
Members meet on the second Saturday of
each month at 8:30 a.m. for a social time
of coffee and donut holes in the Atrium
of the Activities Center.
