Table Tennis is one of the world’s most
popular sports because it promotes stam-
ina, flexibility, coordination and cognitive
development. Most of all, playing table
tennis is great fun, no matter what your
skill level. The club offers socialization,
friendly competition, instruction, and tour-
naments. Tables, balls, and paddles are
available in the Salado roomat the Cowan
Creek Amenity Center whenever the room
is not being used for other events. Check
the weekly room schedule on the SCTXCA
website under community association >
room reservations > room schedule or at
the Cowan CreekMonitor’s desk to deter-
mine when the Salado room is available.
Each time you play, please log-in (name
and time) the attendance book on the coun-
ter in the Salado room.
The Board of Directors (President-Sharon
Tillisch; Vice President-Dean Ginther;
Secretary-Sheila Engel; Treasurer-Pat
Landis; Activities Director-Lionel Mencha-
ca) meets quarterly and provides leader-
ship and direction for the club. Club mem-
bers are encouraged to attend all open
Board meetings. Check the club website
for news, events, tournaments, photos, and
other materials related to club activities
and table tennis. Yearly dues are $10 per
person and can be paid on the SCTXCA
website or by taking a check to the Social
Center.

Open tennis is a time when any resident
can play on the courts; all levels of play
are welcome. Courts are reserved for Mon-
day and Wednesday evenings and Friday
mornings. Current hours are posted on
bulletin board. A SCTTA coordinator is
there to get play started.

Any resident may reserve a court two days
in advance using a ping pong draw system
at the gazebo at 5 p.m. Sign-up sheets are
located at the bulletin board.
New and potential residents inter-
ested in learning about tennis in Sun
City Texas and the Georgetown area,
contact George Price, a long-time
resident and tennis instructor, and
he will be happy to meet with you
and discuss the various ways to get

each year, using various doubles formats.

A panel of Sun City Texas
artists will answer questions about their
strategies and experiences for selling
their art outside of Sun City and re-
quirements for selling in Texas outside
the Sun City umbrella (Texas Sales and
Use Tax Permit), copyright law, con-
tracts, selling at galleries, businesses,
hospitals, Internet sales, websites, social
media, and pricing your artwork.
“Meet the Artist” Art Show

March 9 from 2-5 p.m., please see the
2014 Exhibition Calendar for more de-
tails. Art created by members is for sale
at the VAC studio, Cowan Creek and the
