are reserved seats and always sell out, so
mark your calendars to purchase tickets
when they go on sale November 1. This
will be a festive concert with holiday
music to suit all tastes. Tickets can be
purchased for $8 at the Member Services
Office or online at

Singers, please note
that rehearsals
will be held at the Cowan Creek Ame-
nity Center on October 15 and 22, and
December 3.

Our members have been busy presenting
programs at nursing homes throughout the
Georgetown area.
It’s not too soon to start thinking about our
Benefit Concert for the Caring Place. The
concert is scheduled for Sunday, January
26 at 3 p.m. at The Worship Place. Mark
your calendars, folks; we want a full house
to support this worthy cause.
Practice is every Saturday morning from
10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and every Tuesday eve-
ning from 6 to 8 p.m. You are welcome to
visit. Free lessons are offered for interested
parties in January and February. Please

As one of the few spectator sports in Sun
City Texas, we invite you to come watch,
come play, come have some fun…at beau-
tiful Del Webb Field.
Special Event:
Blue Santa Tournament,
October 18-19. Last year we raised $1,500
and collected a barrel full of toys. Come
on out; watch, contribute and enjoy!
The
fall season
is underway and runs
through November 21. Games are Mon-
days and Thursdays at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m.
and 12 p.m. Practice and pick up games
are every Tuesday and Friday at 9 a.m.
Remember, it’s never too late to sign up!
There is also a very active, self-supporting,
select traveling team called the Sun City
Warriors for the more competitive player.
Annual dues
are $12 with an additional
$10 for each season. Once you sign up
you will be assigned a team.
We are proud to be part of the Sun City
Texas community. We support the Boys
& Girls Club of Georgetown, University
of Texas Longhorns Softball, George-
town Police Blue Santa Program, and
our Sun City veterans through the Fort
Hood Officers Spouses Club assisting
Fort Hood families.

The Solos Club is a family of friends who
enjoy barbecue, dining out, wine tasting,
bowling, golf, movies and lunch, Canasta,
Social Bridge, Mah Jongg, Pickleball, cos-
mopolitans, tubing, dancing, book clubs,
various day trips and giving back to the
community through Solos Care. If you
want to have fun, come join us.
The 2013 dues to join Solos are $10 for
new members or $20 for renewing mem-
bers, and may be paid online through
the end of October at sctxca.org > Clubs
& Groups > Club Membership & Events
and click on the Solos icon, or pay at the
Member Services Office. After October
31, dues must be paid only at the Member
Services Office.

We’re recreating the 4077th at Legacy
Hills Pavilion on October 23, complete
with Rosie’s bar, the Mess Tent, and even
a USO Show. Watch your email for flyers
with more details. Dress like one of the
cast & you might win a prize.
Thirsty Thursday
is each week, a so-
cial event at the Oaks from 5-6:30 p.m.

sometimes food. Newcomers are warmly
welcomed! Our membership Committee
will greet you and introduce you to some
of our Solos.

October is the month for the Orienta-
tion to Stained Glass Class. Sign-up is
Tuesday, October 1, beginning at 9 a.m.
in the Studio. Please bring a check in
the amount of $45 made payable to SC-
TXCA. The class is limited to the first
l0 people who sign up. Classes start the
next week onMondays andWednesdays,
from 4-7 p.m. for a total of six classes.
Just a reminder to all members that your
required donations are being accepted
now for the November Arts &Crafts Fair
to be held on Saturday, November 9 and
Sunday, November 10.
