The SCARS business meeting will be
Wednesday, October 2 and begin at 7
p.m. with a networking session starting
at 6:30 p.m. There will be a presentation
immediately following the meeting on
the club history.
The club also holds fox hunts on the sec-
ond Saturday of each month. These are
very enjoyable events where we track
down a hidden transmitter with direc-
tional antennas and ham radios. Check
the website for details.
The Sun City amateur radio club or
SCARS maintains the Sun City repeater
on the 70cm band at 441.625 MHz, plus
dup, pl tone 103.5. This repeater is open
for use by any licensed amateur operator.
Amateur radio operators consistently
give back to the community by aiding
and supporting the authorities in emer-
gency situations as well as volunteer
our communications skills with helping
support other events in the area.

The Sundancers square dance on Monday
evenings and round dance on Sunday eve-
nings. All square and round dancers are
welcome to come and join the fun. Check
the Square & Round Dance website for
the most up-to-date dance schedules. The
club dress code is casual.
Square Dance Schedule: Dances on Octo-
ber 7, 14 and 28 will be in the Ballroom.
On October 21, we dance at Cowan Creek.
The dance on October 28 will be a special
Halloween Dance.

Workshop............................... 6:30-7 p.m.
Square Dance............................. 7-9 p.m.

13, all groups will be in the Atrium. On
October 27, all groups will be at Cowan

Table Tennis

Tables are stored in the Salado room and
may be set up/taken down any time the
room is not being used for another event.
Paddles (blades) and balls are available
with the stored tables. All ages enjoy exer-
cise, friendship and camaraderie through
all levels of play. The club offers social get-
togethers, as well as organized member
tournaments throughout the year. Club
events are listed on the Table Tennis web-
site and posted on the bulletin board in the
Salado room.
Ladies
recreational
play is Tuesday and
Friday from 8-10 a.m. (guys are welcome).

play (men and women),

A Table Tennis Robot is available for club
members for training. Contact Dean Gin-

Join the club via the Table Tennis website
or at the Member Services Office. Yearly
dues are $10 per person, pro-rated to $5
for the remainder of 2013.
The club maintains a Board of Directors,
having quarterly meetings with a yearly
business/election meeting in November.
Club members are encouraged to attend
all open meetings.
Table Tennis is a great aerobic exercise
keeping your reflexes and eye-hand co-
ordination sharp, while exercising your
brain. Plus, it’s just plain fun!

about club activities. You can sign up

Open tennis is a time when any resident
can play on the courts reserved for that
purpose; all levels of play are welcome.
Courts are reserved for Monday and
Wednesday evenings and Friday Morn-
ings. Current hours are posted on bul-
letin board next to the courts. A SCTTA
coordinator is there to get play started.
Reserving Courts
Any resident may reserve a court two
days in advance at the gazebo at 5 p.m.
using a ping pong draw system. Sign-up
sheets are located at bulletin board.
