Fun City
Before writing this article, I reviewed some past issues of
Sun
Rays
to refresh my memory on what interesting material on Sun
City Texas had been covered with you recently. I discovered that
we have informed you about expansion, transfer fees, Putters
Café, our investments, the importance of committee participation,
our very able and competent CA staff, and a number of other mat-
ters that are vital in keeping Sun City Texas the great place it is.
With that knowledge already in hand, I think it is time to talk
about the other sides of Sun City Texas—the things that really
led us to decide to make this place our home. Before I moved here,
I certainly was not thinking about how to get on the Board or
what committee I wanted to join—I was thinking about golfing,
social functions, playing games, making new friends, travelling,
staying fit, and all the other ways Jo and I could enjoy our re-
tirement. The amenities offered by Sun City Texas, along with
the natural beauty and attractions of the area, are what got us
excited about coming here.
I know that many of you go away to a cooler locale for the sum-
mer, but, for those who stay, look at some of the attractions for
the summer. Our golf courses will be in great shape, our pools
will be open, beautiful trails are here for the hikers, our great
team of actors and performers will be showing off their talents,
you can take the grandkids (us older kids, too) fishing, and on
and on. Also, for those of you who might have friends coming in
who might be prospective residents—don’t forget the Pulte rental
plan where guests can stay for one to three days at reasonable
rates in one of Pulte’s homes. All they have to do is call the sales
office (see page four) and Pulte will arrange their stay. This is
a great way to show off Sun City Texas and enjoy your friends.
So, be thankful for what we have, work hard to maintain it, but
take time to play and enjoy Sun City Texas. Have a great summer.
