Jim Romine, Executive Director
Y
our CA staff’s number one goal in 2014, as it has always
been, is our residents’ satisfaction. In the development
of our annual goals, staff first reviews the CA Board’s
goals and budget direction to ensure they are aligned; then,
they develop action plans to meet each goal. We take these
goals very seriously and appreciate everyone’s support and
assistance in achieving them.
Resident Satisfaction
As stated, our residents’ satisfaction with their Association,
including its overall management, is our number one goal. To
achieve this goal we need to ensure that we are walking the
walk and doing as we say we are going to do. We must be pro-
fessional in our actions and be good stewards of our buildings
and grounds. It is important that we properly maintain the
assets of the Association to ensure our homeowners’ property
values are protected, as well as the assets of the community.
We need to ensure that our policies are being enforced, our
buildings and grounds are in good shape, and that we are ac-
cessible when needed. Staff must truly care about the success
and life of this community for all of us to be successful. Our
action planning and attention to customer service excellence
will help us to continue to raise the bar in this area.
Financial Responsibility
Each year, the staff works diligently with our committees and
Board to develop the annual operating budget for the Associa-
tion that will cover the necessary expenses to professionally
run the community over the next year. Now that this budget is
approved, staff is responsible for ensuring that we are working
within that budget and that we are being good stewards of the
community’s money. We take this responsibility very seriously
and know that if we fail in this goal, we will not be successful
in goal number one. As such, through disciplined accounting
procedures, expense controls and a thorough understanding
of the budget, your staff lives this budget and attacks each
day with a desire to be financially successful for our residents.
We have been blessed to have a good track record on the fi-
nancial success of our community, and our financial strength
and stability is something that most other HOAs would love
to have. Additionally, we have great volunteers with fantastic
financial backgrounds who have helped us to be successful and
we hope to continue this positive path well into the future.
Golf operations did very well in 2013 and are on track to show a
slight profit this year. Hats off to Ron, Gary and our wonderful
Pros for the work they continue to do to make Sun City Texas
Golf the best of the best and financially responsible.
Enhanced Communications
When I compare our communications at Sun City Texas to
those of other Associations, I am quite confident that we are
communicating effectively and providing multiple avenues for
our residents to know what is going on within their community.
Every year, staff challenges itself to raise the bar and look
for best practices, new methods of communicating and ways
we can be open and transparent in our business to meet this
goal. As most of you are very aware, we are in the process of
changing our current website to a newer, more user-friendly
site; we hope to have it in place and running by the beginning of
July. We are very excited about this conversion and appreciate
your patience and support as we navigate through this change.
Employee Development
As an 18-year veteran of Sun City Texas, I must say our staff
is the best of the best and one that is truly dedicated to success
and the overall satisfaction of our residents. To maintain, pro-
mote and support such a good team, it is important to provide
training and education to our staff and to provide themwith the
necessary tools to be successful in their jobs. We will continue
to facilitate monthly all-employee meetings to discuss current
events, status of our goals and action plans, customer service,
and safety-related training presentations. As a team, we have
stressed that teamwork is the key to our success.
I am very excited about 2014, the many new challenges and the
continuation of new homeowners moving into Sun City Texas.
On behalf of the staff, thank you for allowing us to be a part
of this wonderful community and for your trust and support.
Take care,
Jim
