her skills as a trainer. “When I first met

going to keep me on my toes. She wanted
to get stronger, and she was going to get
stronger. She made that clear.”

Linda trains with Michelle twice a week,
and has been for two years. They have de-
veloped a collaborative approach to Linda’s
training, both sharing ideas for Michelle
to research and apply to Linda’s training
regimen. “Linda often comes up with ideas
for us to try. If I feel they are safe, we
try them!” Michelle smiles enthusiasti-
cally. “Linda often starts herself on the
machines that have become comfortable
for her, and this frees up time for us to
advance her workouts.”

Linda appreciates Michelle’s determina-
tion in keeping her safe. “Michelle has
taken the time to know me and my limita-
tions. She pushes those limitations from
time to time to see if I’m improving (which
I usually have), but most importantly she
