Whether you catch them playing on a street
corner or a big stage, there is something that
you will remember about the Wilson String
Band. The joyful sounds of their music will
linger with you long afterwards, and you will
find yourself smiling as you recall daughter, Cara belting out a
tune while her family drives the rhythm behind her. This family
band is talented and fun.
Their music is a high energy mix, covering artists from Louis
Armstrong to the Beatles; Bob Wills to Merle Haggard. They
bring a Western Swing flavor to it all, with twin fiddles, steel
guitar, hard-driving upright bass, and honky-tonk piano.
Everyone in the family contributes their unique talents and
personalities for an exciting, musically diverse show.
Horticulture Club Fall Iris Sale - NEW!

The Horticulture Club is gearing up for their
Fall Iris Sale to be held on September 10 from
9 a.m. to noon. Circle that date on your
calendars now for purchase of bearded iris in
all classifications. Newer varieties will be sold beverage per ticket and one cup of popcorn.

Folkwine is a folk band composed of Buenger
Dickson (tenor guitar), Les Newcomb (6 string
acoustic guitars) and Joe Blanda (lead and
slide guitars) harmonizing on vintage folk,
traditional and acoustic rock tunes from the
1950s to the 1970s. They play songs by Woody Guthrie, Pete

Visual Arts Club Fall Competition Show
and Reception - NEW!

The Visual Arts Club presents its Twelfth
Annual Fall Competition Show and Reception
on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the
Activities Center, 1 Texas Drive. You’re invited
to see Sun City’s finest artwork at our annual
show and reception which is free and open to the public. The
exhibit showcases original, affordable artwork in a variety of
mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, Chinese brush, pastels
and more. Artwork will remain on display and offered for sale
through Friday, Nov. 11. Come and enjoy light refreshments and
art demonstrations by members while you meet the artists and
view the show.
