Volunteer Trip Leaders needed
Are you interested in being a Volun-
teer Trip Leader? Do you enjoy plan-
ning fun outings? Do you have a great
interest in sports, theatre, museums,
shopping or history? If leading, plan-
ning, contracts, spreadsheets, budgets,
writing articles, and being a team
player are your passion, please contact
Jenny Phillips for an interview. This is a great group to
be a part of, but it does take time and patience to prepare
all details and lead a successful trip.
Please know that one of the primary requirements is that
each volunteer plans and leads at least six trips a year.
Trip leaders are also required to attend and participate
in a monthly team meeting. If you have time constraints
or a heavy work load, this volunteer opportunity may
not be a good fit for you. The required interview with
potential volunteers includes discussion and discernment
about working well with our current group.
The top three personality traits required are as follows:
– Organization and office skills (detail-oriented, com-
puter literate, willingness to persevere)
– Personal skills (self-starter, creative, ability to take
charge, flexibility, willingness and ability to trouble-
shoot and handle problems)
– People skills (positive attitude, communication skills,
recognition of what people expect from us, sensitivity)

Performance: A Capella Texas
Tuesday, Aug. 2, 7 - 8:30 p.m., SCB, $10 pp
Open seating cabaret style
Austin has been home to a chapter of the
Barbershop Harmony Society since 1961. In
the past four decades the Austin Chord Ranger
Chorus and Quartets have performed around
town thousands of times. Hundreds of local
singers have joined in the fun as the group has encouraged and
preserved the uniquely American art form known as Barbershop
Music. Now the Rangers have a new name and a new vision
which is called A Capella Texas.

in prison, Powers’ only hope is New York lawyer

CIA operative to negotiate his release. Donovan boards a plane to
Berlin, hoping to win the young man’s freedom through a prisoner
exchange. If all goes well, the Russians would get Rudolf Abel
(Mark Rylance), the convicted spy who Donovan defended in court.

Sun City’s Got Talent

Would you like to help choose the best talent
in Sun City? This is our second year for this
sell-out show and we have added family talent
to the contest. Watch our most talented
residents and some of their families in a one-
night show and vote for your favorite act! Prizes will be given
to the first, second, and third place winners.
You will be amazed at the talent in Sun City and you will see
a variety of performances, including singing, dancing, comedy
acts and a few surprises.
Cabaret seating includes snacks and beverages, and several door
prizes will be given away. This show is produced by the Sun City
Georgettes and a portion of the profits will be given to charity.
Round up your friends and family for a delightful evening!
