                                         Selah, Bamberger Ranch
Preserve, a 5,500 acre working ranch, is the
largest habitat restoration project of private
land in Texas. Their goal is to restore, preserve
and educate the thousands of visitors to this beautiful acreage
each year. Through community outreach, a small staff educates
ranchers on management, consults with home owners on plant
usage, speaks to corporations, conducts wildlife research and
gives hundreds of tours. J. David Bamberger, the visionary, was
interviewed by CBS on 60 Minutes in January 2012 on his 40
year dream and will personally speak to us.
NOTES: The 90 minute tour includes standing and
walking through grass, uneven and rocky areas. The
terrain is not for mobility impaired. You must also be
able to climb into the back of a flatbed truck. Wear long
pants, closed shoes; bring a hat and sunscreen lotion.
The only facilities are port-a-potty.
After the tour we will go to East Main Grill in Johnson City for
lunch: chicken salad croissant, Caesar salad, banana pudding,
and iced tea or coffee. (No substitutions or other options available.)
Ticket cost includes transportation, tour, lunch and tip. Only 38
