You can play an active role in the governance of Sun City
Texas by serving on an advisory committee. To learn more
about the committees, attend monthly committee meetings
(listed on page six of the Sun Rays) or visit committee websites
at www.sctexas.org (click on Community Association Info >
click on Committees & Task Forces > click on the committee
of your choice).
Committee applications will be available August 8 at the Social
Center, Cowan Creek and Activities Center monitor desks, the
Texas Drive Fitness Center and on the Nominating Committee
website. The deadline to apply is Friday, Sept. 9. Interviews
will be conducted the week of October 10 – 14.
The following 20 committee openings are available:

Covenants: 1 Homes: 1
Elections: 1 Modifications: 4
Emergency Management: 3 Property and Grounds: 1
Finance: 2 Wildlife: 2
Golf: 2

Resident Directors’ Open Session
Wednesday, August 17, 3 p.m., CCG

The Resident Directors of the Sun City Texas Community
Association Board will be holding their Open Session on August
17 at 3 p.m. in the Georgetown Room at the Cowan Creek
Amenity Center. This meeting is to allow for two-way dialog
between the resident directors and residents and will mainly
focus on matters listed on the August Board workshop agenda.
All residents are welcome to attend.
New to Sun City? Attend the
New Resident Orientation
Thursday, August 18,
8:30 a.m., Social Center Ballroom
If you are new to Sun City Texas, please join us for the New
Resident Orientation. At 8:30 a.m., the club fair begins.
Enthusiastic members will visit with you and tell you about
their chartered clubs.
The Community Association staff presentation begins at 9:15
a.m. and ends around 10:15 a.m. You will have an opportunity
to meet the staff, learn how your Community Association
operates, and gather valuable information. Refreshments
will be served.
