2006 TO SUN CITY SALE?

2014 Ahhh, garage sales. Who among us hasn’t found ourselves with a
few “essentials” we did not have space for or simply did not need?
It was that common experience which brought about the “Why Did
We Bring It to Sun City Sale,” a gathering of residents and their
treasures in the Social Center parking lot in the early morning
hours of Saturday, November 2, 1996. Proceeds from the sale

of spaces at the first garage sale went toward the purchase of a
piano for the Social Center.

While many things have changed over the past 20 years, the
garage sale has remained a constant favorite for those looking
to do some spring cleaning and for folks around the George-
town community looking for a great deal. The Sale has grown
significantly since those first years – the 2016 Sale hosted 145
spaces. Set-up started at 7 a.m. in the early years, but now the

colossal production requires set-up the day before and shoppers
are required to wait at the starting line for the 8 a.m. air horn
signaling their authorized entry.

Join us on Saturday, April 2 for the next Sun City Texas com-
munity-wide garage sale and find your next treasure! No early
birds at this Garage Sale, shopping starts promptly at 8 a.m.!
