We were never to get close enough that an animal
felt threatened or became frightened. The Zodiacs
ensured we remained a reasonable distance from
whales and any animals resting on ice floes.
We brought back so many varied memories of the
wonderful scenery, the journey and the people we
met. The magnificent view available on the bridge
contributed to the great experience aboard the
ship. The captain and bridge crew spoke very little
English, but were still friendly and helpful. One
couple had the Captain marry them on the bridge
and we all celebrated their wedding.
We are excited to say that we have now been in
every latitudinal belt on earth, from the Arctic to
the Antarctic, and that between us we have now
visited six of the seven continents on Earth. We
had a fantastic experience and would recommend
visiting Antarctica for anyone with a bucket list
similar to ours.
