Happy 2015!
Once a year, Sun City residents elect representatives to our
Board of Directors. This year, members Glynn Hatley and Gary
Preston are faced with the difficult choice of retiring or running
for reelection. We eagerly await their decisions.
OnWednesday, January 21, the Election Committee will conduct
a candidate information forum for those interested in running
for the Board, as well as for those who just want to learn about
the process. The forum begins at 1 p.m. and will be held in the
Georgetown-Florence Room at Cowan Creek.
Since its inception, our community has been blessed with many
outstanding individuals ready to step up and serve on our Board
of Directors. Their foresight, knowledge and dedication to Sun
City has enabled us to become one of the premiere retirement
destinations in America. We look forward to continuing this
tradition as we enter a new and exciting phase of our development.
I encourage each and every one of you to consider giving back
to this place we call home. I have been on the board for seven
months and have absolutely no regrets. Yes, there are times when
things get busy - especially during budget season! But it is not an
all-consuming endeavor. Our Staff and the Finance Committee
do an excellent job of preparing a thoughtful budget package
which we as a Board must approve. Even though we are still
under the control of the Developer, we are frequently allowed to
make decisions that affect us without Pulte placing pressure on
the Board to do their bidding. We need to continue our history
of having capable and thoughtful Board participation by you,
the residents of Sun City. All we ask is that you plan on doing
your best to ensure our future is as bright as our past has been.
I hope to see many of you at the Election Committee Forum on
January 21!
