September has finally come, and we hope
it is bringing us some cooler weather.
Additionally, we are looking forward to
the day that White Wing is once again
intact and playable. Now that we are
heading into fall, our schedule begins
to pick up.
September will find our members
competing in the annual Presidents
Cup. This year we are introducing a
new streamlined format which will be
easier to manage for the Tournament
Committee and Director. Gone is the old
cumbersome match play format which
made it difficult to field teams and keep
them balanced, as some players could
only play one week. Teams will be chosen
by the same method this year—round
robin, picking out of a bag for each level of email addresses.

Ah, September! That means just a
few more weeks of hot Central Texas
temperatures; fall is around the corner
and only three golf tournaments remain.
Our season has been such a success
because of our dedicated members, the
hard-working board and committee
members, the attentive golf shop personnel
and our wonderful sponsors. We see
their signs at each tournament and their
special gift certificates at each social; we
want to recognize those businesses and
individuals. Take a moment to view the
list on our website because they appreciate
our support also.
We have a full month of golfing activities
in addition to our weekly play days. Our
General Membership Meeting will be
held Tuesday after play day on Sept. 5 at
the Legacy Hills Pavilion from 12:30-2
p.m., and we always enjoy seeing all of
our members’ smiling faces. Our next
tournament, The Member/Member, is
scheduled for Sept. 11 at Legacy Hills
and Sept. 12 at Cowan Creek with an

registered players by the presidents who
are fielding teams. The two play days will
then be played by all registered players,
and a chosen number of the net scores
for each team will be used for a team
score. Presidents will still choose their
team name and color. The second week
will be followed by the social, headed up
by Mary Ann Sinayi and her fabulous
Social Committee who have chosen a
rodeo theme.
Remember, new members can join for
only $20! Come out and have some fun
with the 9-hole gals and make some new
friends! If you need more information

8 a.m. shotgun start each morning. The
social will follow the final day of play on
Sept. 12 and be held in the Cowan Creek
Florence/Georgetown rooms from 1-3 p.m.
Sign-up for the Club Championship will
begin on Sept. 13 and run through Sept.
28 with the tournament played on Oct. 9
at White Wing, Oct. 10 at Legacy Hills and
Couples Golf
Association (CGA)
Vice President, Couples Golf
The Couples Golf Association has
had a very eventful summer, but it
is now time to look forward to fall.
The 18-Hole Group will be playing
on Sept. 9 at Cowan Creek. They
will also have a Play Day on Sept. 23
at Legacy Hills. Both of these Play
Days will be 8 a.m. shotguns.
The 9-Hole Group will only have one
Play Day in September. It will be on
Sept. 16 at White Wing. It is also
an 8 a.m. shotgun.
Both the 9 and 18-Hole Groups will
have their Club Championships
on Oct. 20 and 21. This two-day
event is followed by a dinner on
Oct. 21, which will be held in the
Georgetown/Florence Rooms at
Cowan Creek. Please mark your
calendars and be sure to check the
CGA web page for more information
to come concerning the Club
Championships.
