closed from June 12-24 for Junior Camp.

Mission: The Current Issues Club
provides a nonpartisan environment
where a respectful exchange of ideas
among members promotes discussion and
a deeper understanding of current issues.
Topics: Topic suggestions are submitted
to the Board from the Discussion SIG,
program evaluations, club message
board and members’ emails. The Board
presents four to five choices at the program exercise for both men and women.

Research: Volunteers serve on the
Research Committee and prepare the
program information sheet which is posted
on the website. Members are encouraged
to contribute to the club’s Message Board.

Member Services Office.
Discussion SIG: June 10 – Members only.
Members participate in less formal, small
group discussion(s) about topics affecting
the world, nation, Texas, Georgetown and/
or Sun City Texas. Members start arriving
at 9 a.m. to suggest topics.

2nd Chance Jazz Dance offers the
opportunity of fitness and fun as you
learn dance steps. Students will learn
choreographed jazz routines. After a
break for the summer, classes will resume
September 8.

The Monday night first quarter Hand &
Foot contest (total 74 players) was won
by: First place (40 wins) Jeanell Nelson;
second (38 wins) Dorothea Peterson; third
(38 wins) Bill Bigger. This event continues
to draw a crowd, with up to 50 players each
Monday night. (Hand & Foot Canasta
lessons are offered on Sunday afternoons
at 2 p.m. at the scheduled game; lessons
are not available at the Monday night
Hand & Foot games.)
Several years ago a player scored 5 points
for an entire game of Liverpool Rummy.
Shortly after that, his winning record was
tied by another player. It has now been
four years since the record was tied! Each
week we check to see if any player comes
close to the record. Come play Wednesday
nights and see if you can break the record!
