New players and guests are always
welcome to play with us. Members play
at 8 a.m. Monday through Saturday
during the summer months and at 1
p.m. when the weather is colder.
Our club dues are only $12 all year for
returning members and $6 for the rest
of the year for new members. Bocce
balls and yardsticks are available in
the small bin next to the club shack for
guests to use.
This was the month for high scoring! Al
Villar and Don Webb each had a five-
point frame. Stanley Payne did even
better with three five-point frames.
The grand prize, however, goes to Joe
Platek who had that very rare six-point
frame. This takes place about as often
as a double-eagle in golf!
Our club website has pictures showing
special events that have been held
recently along with a series of pictures
showing the construction process on the
courts over the years. All residents are
encouraged to visit the site and, if you
like what you see, come and play the
game a few times and consider joining
our club.
Bocce Fact of the Month: Our
equipment consists of nine balls. The
smallest of these is called the pallino.
It is rolled onto the court at the start of Joining is simple. Visit www.sctexas.org,

Country Western Dance

Monthly dances provide traditional
country western dancing in the ballroom.
Dances feature recorded music or a live
band. Ice and water are provided. Please
bring your own beverages and snacks.
Membership is $12 annually and covers
admission to monthly recorded dances;
however, additional fees may be charged
for special events. You can go online to

We will host Classic Country in November
and Weldon Henson Band will play in
December. Dance lessons are offered
through the Fitness Center.
Couples Golf Association

This club was formed for the purpose of
promoting golf among Sun City Texas
couples who enjoy casual, competitive golf
in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Playdays are every third Saturday,
rotating around the three Sun City Texas
planned for the upcoming season. Refer

and locations.
The CGA has players of all skill levels,
game or helping others improve theirs.
Membership is only $15 a year per
