Women Helping Others

WHO welcomes all residents. We are a
cohesive group with a passion for caring,
sharing and serving the extended com-
munity. Our mission is to support exist-
ing charitable organizations with time,
donations and assistance while foster-
ing camaraderie, fellowship and inclu-
sion. And yes, men are welcome, too. We
meet the fourth Monday of the month.
The agenda includes a salad luncheon
and a presentation from a nonprofit or
public service organization, followed by
our business meeting. The members bring
the salads and make an optional $10
donation at each meeting. Annual dues
are $10 and may be paid online or at the
monthly meeting. Guests and prospective
members are welcome to join us. Just let
us know you are coming so that we may
welcome you.
Our speaker for August is Kristy Clark,
Community and Donor Relations Man-
ager with Texas Humane Heroes. This
organization finds loving homes for dogs
and cats rescued from over-crowded local
municipal shelters, many of which kill
for space.
Last year was our first full year as a
chartered Sun City club, and we have
accomplished our goals of volunteering,
fundraising and donating funds to sup-
port charitable organizations. Come and

see our display of crafts, as well as take
a tour of our shop if you are interested
in seeing it.
We maintain a fully equipped woodshop
with jointers, planers, table, band and
miter saws, routers, sanders, hand tools
and clamps. We have on hand a variety
of hardwoods for members to buy.
We provide training classes and extensive
library resources. We conduct orientation
classes twice a month and enhanced class-
es quarterly. Our club and shop are set up
to accommodate all levels of woodworking.
New members: All new members must
pay through sctexas.org or at the Member
Services Office. Please bring your ticket
to the shop to sign up for the orientation
and safety class.
Any member can participate in Toys for
Tots, making toys for children at Christ-
mas; we also make projects for Camp
Discovery and help kids fighting cancer
assemble them.

table games, bowling, movies, dining out,
gourmet cooking, wine and beer tasting.

ZOE (Outside Events)
Your ZOE volunteers have been very busy
putting together great extended trips, in-
cluding a Christmas Market trip to Aus-
tria and Bavaria, a Hawaiian Cruise in
January, an Alaskan Cruise and more!
