The Hunting & Fishing Club stocked the Cowan Creek pond
with 450 trout for the club’s annual trout fishing tournament
held on Saturday, February 20. The tournament kicked off at
7:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts; fishing started at 8 a.m. There was a 5-fish
per person limit established. First through third place prizes were awarded
for the longest fish. Jim Bickle donated a $50 gift certificate from Legacy
Hills Grille as the first place prize; Randy Gehr was the lucky winner with a
15 ¾ inch trout. The second place was a 15 ¼ inch trout and third place was
a tie between three anglers at 14 ¾ inch fish. Second and third place prizes
were $25 gift cards donated by Academy Sports.
