I would like to congratulate our Club
Champions:
Tom Mullins bested the field to win his
first 18-Hole title, and Walter Connolly
captured his third 9-Hole title. Winners
of 18-Hole flight were: 1st - Dickie
Smith; 2nd - Erwin Ruch; 3rd - John
Chenoweth; 4th - Vic VanAudenhove;
5th - Ken Landon; 6th - Al Rasmussen;
7th - Don Chasteen; 8th - Ray Fulks, and
our inaugural Green Tee - Bob McMinn.
Winners of 9-Hole flight were: 1st - Bob
Connell; 2nd - Ralph Rogers, and 3rd -
Lee Cooper. Well done, gentlemen.
MGA membership now surpasses 650.
Our tournaments continue to sell out and
our Playday participation continues to
increase. Our pace of play initiatives con-
tinue to work. Now, we are experiencing
more sub 4-hour rounds than rounds over
our 4-hour, 10-minute pace of play goal.

All of our tournaments benefit from the
support of our sponsors. Please make
sure you support our generous sponsors
by awarding them with your business
whenever possible.
Please strive to be a “Solution” golfer by
continuing to fill your divots and others
in the general vicinity of your ball and
by repairing your pitch marks and any
others you may see on every green. It
only takes a few seconds to clean up after
our “Problem” golfers.
Calendar of Events 2014

Playing with the Couples Golf Association
is yet another opportunity to enjoy year-
round golf here in Sun City Texas! New
memberships and renewals for 2015
begin November 15. Annual dues are just
$15 per person. Remember, the deadline
to renew your membership is January
1, 2015. Don’t miss this opportunity to
begin or to continue enjoying golf with
a social, friendly group of folks!
There are just two opportunities to play
with the CGA this year. Our play day for
this month will be Saturday, November
15, with a noon shotgun start at White
Wing; this play day will feature a 6-6-
6 format. Then, as we enter the busy
month of December, members can sign
up for a Step-Aside scramble to be held
on December 6 at Cowan Creek, also a
noon shotgun start. Sign-ups for these
play days and all CGA play days are
posted on the CGA website three weeks
prior to each event.
Did you know you can find all the format
definitions and descriptions on the CGA
website? So, if a 6-6-6 format intrigues
you, look it up on our website under
“format definitions.”
By the time you read this article,
the CGA will have its first-ever club
champions! To see who this couple is, visit
the CGA website for all the details and
results of the CGA Club Championship
Tournament, held last month on October
17 and 18.
The CGA Board has called a meeting of
the general membership for the election
of officers for 2015; this meeting will be
held on Monday, November 17 at 10 a.m.
in the Florence Room at Cowan Creek
Amenity Center. The CGA nominating
committee will present the slate of
nominees, and nominations from the
floor will be accepted as well.
The CGA would like to wish all of you a
very Happy Thanksgiving!
