N48 Scavenger Hunt Do you love puzzles? As a child did you play "Clue" or love to solve mysteries? Do you watch the television show "Amazing Race" and think "Oh, I could do that?" If you answered "YES" to any one of these questions then we have just the event for you. (NOTE: Even if you answered "NO" we'd love to have you join in on this fun activity and/or simply join us for lunch afterward.) N48 is having a "Scavenger Hunt" where teams will be given clues to follow and find necessary things around Sun City and return with their proof of evidence(s). Event will be held Saturday morning, April 22 (weather permitting), starting at 9:00 a.m. at Cowan Pavilion. Scavenger Hunt will end at 11:00 a.m. whether or not teams have fully completed their hunt. Additionally, at 11:00 neighbors should bring their appetizers, main/side dishes, or desserts where we will share a "themed" lunch together at the Cowan Pavilion. For this event there is a two-phase registration process. If competing in the hunt, please be sure to complete Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the registration process. If not participating in the hunt, please complete Phase 2 of the registration. Prior to event, invite two to three friends/neighbors to be a part of your team. This is a great opportunity for you to invite new neighbors and/or for new neighbors to reach out to those living nearby to form a team. (Teams should be no larger than 4 people and should have a designated Team Lead.) Decide if you'll be riding in golf cart(s), driving, or bicycling but keep in mind that this event will be scored on time and accuracy. Although all clues will be within Sun City, some locations may be too far to walk; however, walking to/from vehicle(s) and clue site(s) may be required. Additional tools required for the hunt include a camera phone as well as a Sun City map so please ensure you have both of these items before beginning the hunt. When you register, the Team Lead should register self and then register all team members underneath the lead's name. By doing so, this will allow us to see the grouping of teams and indicates who will be a Team Lead. Additionally, please send a note to Rebecca Moore confirming yourself as a Team Lead. If, for some reason, you have difficulties with the registration process, please call Rebecca Moore (832-525-9170) for assistance. Teams need to arrive at the Cowan Pavilion by 8:50 a.m. (10 minutes before start time) where you will receive your clues along with instructions on how to prove you were at each location. If lead and team members are staying for lunch, please be sure to complete the 2nd phase of the registration process. More details about the race will be forthcoming but teams should plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early for the 9:00 race kick-off.
Register your attendance so that we can ensure there is sufficient food for all hunters and non-hunters who want to eat lunch. Please note that those participating in the Scavenger Hunt will be registered by their Team Lead but should still follow the steps below. Before noon on Friday, April 14, please inform Nancy Chessman ([email protected]) of what food you are bringing. This is a themed lunch so bring foods that remind you of your childhood fun-in-the-sun days. Nancy will work with you to ensure there are sufficient appetizers, main/side dishes, as well as desserts. For lunch only, arrive at Cowan Pavilion before 11:00 a.m. where you can watch hunters as they return from their hunt. Lunch will begin around 11:30 a.m. Please remember to bring your own beverage (BYOB).
