VFW Post 8587 Golf
Tournament
The M/Sgt. Ben D. Snowden VFW Post
8587 from Georgetown will be hosting a
Golf Tournament onMonday, November 10
at theBerryCreekCountryClub inGeorge-
town. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. Entry fees
are $85 per player and include dinner after
the event. Sponsorship is available, ranging
from the Medal of Honor at $1,000 to the
National Defense at $25. All contributions

FOUNTAINWOOD OBSERVATORY
FALL VIEWING NIGHTS
The Fountainwood Observatory’s remain-
ing public viewing night will be held on
Saturday, November 15, from8-10:30 p.m.
Viewing nights are free, but donations are
appreciated to help maintain the obser-
vatory. The observatory is located on the
northeast side of campus adjacent to the
Rockwell Baseball Field (see #6 on the
campus map at

The Friends of the Georgetown Library’s

Red Kettle Campaign
Once again, bells are ringing for the Salva-
tion Army Red Kettle Campaign, Novem-
ber 28 - December 24. The Kiwanis Club of
Sun City is partnering with the Salvation
Army to raise funds andmake the holidays
a little brighter for those struggling during
these difficult times. If you would like to
make a contribution, visit the CityMarket
in Sun City and listen for the bells ringing
on the corner of the porch.
As a safety measure, all Salvation

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BINGO
Bingo in the Ballroomwill be held Sunday,
November 30 in the Social Center Ball-
room. Doors open at 5 p.m.; games at 6 p.m.
Cash prizes. All proceeds support various

HOLIDAY HOME TOUR
TheGeorgetownHeritage Society’s Annual
Holiday Home Tour will take place Satur-
day, December 13 and Sunday, December
14. This year, the association has added
a Saturday evening candlelight tour for
all who want to stroll Olive Street amid
the warm glow of holiday lights, Christ-
mas carolers and hot chocolate. The holi-
day tour kick-off party will take place at

saleNovember 1 andmust be purchased in

AARP TAX AIDE VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED
AARPTax Aide is looking for volunteers to
helpWilliamson County residents prepare
and e-file their Federal tax returns Janu-
ary 28 through April 15. Training will be
provided in January including all course
materials and computer time to practice
using the tax preparation software. There
is no charge to attend the Tax Aide train-
ing class.
Those volunteerswith basic computer skills
may train to prepare and efile tax returns.
Those who prefer to put their people skills
to use may serve as client facilitators.
