Mulligan’s Update
Submitted by Nels JohnsonA Big Big Thank You to the Community Association’s Board of Directors along with Jim Romine, Katie Newnam, and David Hahn for working with us on getting Mulligan’s off the ground. Everyone that I’ve talked with wants Mulligan’s to open as soon as possible, including me. Getting building permits and electrical diagrams through the City of Georgetown takes about six weeks. After City approval we will need approximately two months for the buildout of Mulligan’s. It just takes time but it will be well worth the wait.
Micky (a retired architect) and Barbara Shepard, who are very good friends of ours and fellow Sun City residents, are assisting on an as needed basis. We are also working with Kaitlin Baylie on design and branding. Mulligan’s will look outstanding! We are working with an excellent interior designer and will offer a “Hill Country” theme throughout. Mulligan’s will have two “private dining areas”, one at each end of the restaurant. One will be named “Bob Lilly’s” and the other will be named “Bruce Crampton’s”. We have lots and lots of memorabilia to decorate these two rooms from these two Sun City residents.
We will be open daily for breakfast and lunch plus have various appetizers available in the afternoon. We have applied for a full liquor license and will offer liquor, beer, and wine. We are remodeling the current bar area, adding several new banquettes, sound paneling, updated lighting, and will add stone motif throughout the entire restaurant. We will make extensive use of the patio and will take reservations (not rent) for various functions such as neighborhood parties, bands, WGA events, MGA events, fundraising events such as Meals on Wheels, etc.… We can cater just about anything imaginable.
I will periodically keep everyone updated throughout this buildout process, including dinner options, gluten free choices, and various menu items that will be offered. We are all very excited to get Mulligan’s up and running. Again, please thank the CA Board, Jim, Katie, and David for all of their help with this. They have all been outstanding in helping to get Mulligan’s off the ground.
