After dedicating the season to a teammate's ailing father, head coach Jon Kelly (Greg Kinnear) reluctantly agrees to do whatever it takes to get his team of young, underdog baseball players to the 2002 Little League World Series. One win at a time, the team's miraculous journey culminates in a record-breaking showdown.
