FIELD TRIP The Jarrell Rodeo Thursday, June 27 & Friday, June 28 "It's the ropes and the reins, and the joy and the pain. And they call the thing rodeo"………Garth Brooks The first Rodeo was held in San Gabriel Park in 1938 and continued until the COVID pandemic cancelled the 2020 Rodeo breaking a nearly eighty-year tradition. The one-year gap marks 2024 as the 80th Annual Rodeo. Traditional favorites such as Steer Wrestling, Mutton Bustin', Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, and a comedy act featuring the legendary Leon Coffee are just some of the acts featured. The Rodeo's mission is to promotes youth, agriculture, and equestrian activities in Williamson and surrounding counties in Texas. No coolers. Please note that "Slack Night" on 6/27 is free because it's the overflow from Friday and Saturday but will start earlier (TBD) but will have less events.
