Retired sea captain Howard has a strained relationship with his daughter Grace. When Grace hires widowed housekeeper Annie to help him, Howard unexpectedly falls in love. He gives all of his affection to Annie and her family but rejects his own daughter. Filmed on Achill Island off the west coast of Ireland, the tale revolves around different types of love: the love between a father and daughter, and a love story between two mature people, proving that new beginnings are never too late. |
