Pollinators Among Us Vital to the health of our planet, pollinators account for every third bite of food we eat but face myriad threats and stresses. In this informal talk and question-and-answer session, beekeeper and PBS reality series host Charlie Agar will share about his work with honeybees, their vital role in our ecosystem, and what we can all do to help protect and encourage pollinators. About Charlie
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Charlie Agar has trod an unusual path to beekeeping. He once worked the fisheries of Alaska, ski-bummed in Colorado, taught English in Japan, crisscrossed South and Southeast Asia as a travel guidebook writer, and worked as a newspaper reporter before life brought him to sunny New Braunfels, Texas. Charlie removes and rehomes nuisance bee colonies, coaches new beekeepers, leases honey bees for agricultural evaluation, and sells honey at the local farmer's market. His work is the subject of a reality TV series on PBS. Learn more at CharlieBee.com.
