Located in Gatesville, the Coryell Historical Center is home to a premier collection of memorabilia that covers the settlement of Central Texas from the establishment of Old Fort Gates to the present. This hidden gem of a museum also houses the largest collection of spurs in the world. A unique exhibit showcases historical and novelty spurs, including spurs worn by Pancho Villa and Jackie Kennedy. Next up, tales of lore and legend, a photo op at the courthouse and lunch on your own at Rudy's BBQ in Killeen. Following lunch, enjoy a double feature at the Mayborn Science Theater: Whale Super Highway – The Australian Migration and Back to the Moon for Good –The New Space Race. Both movies will be shown on Mayborn's state-of-the-art 60-foot dome. Note: Please bring a sweater, jacket or blanket as the planetarium will be cool.
