STALACTITE STALAGMITE - JUNE 26TH Which one will I SEE tonite? Join your N48 friends for a COOL summer underground experience at Longhorn Cavern State Park near Burnet. We will SPELUNK - that is, stroll through time on a 90 minute guided walking tour of the Cavern, 1.1 miles round trip all walking or standing. There are 52 steps leading to cave entrance (no railings) & sometimes slick spots in the cave so wear closed toe, low heeled shoes (rubber soles recommended). Not wheelchair accessible, & no pets except trained service animals. Temp constant at up to 68 degrees so bring a light jacket/wear long pants if you choose. We'll see the Hall of Diamonds, Queen's Throne & Underground Ballroom among other highlights. From the historic CCC Observation Tower there are amazing 360 degree views of TX Hill Country! There is a self-serve Snack Bar & a Gift Shop on the premises. Register online on N48 website & check registration list to form carpools in advance. MEET by 10 AM at the Cavern! IF you are new & not sure about carpools, contact Char & she will try to connect you with a carpool. We will not do a group rate due to complicated cancellation policies.
