This film follows the life of the legendary Loretta Lynn (Sissy Spacek) who grew up in poverty in rural Kentucky and became the "Queen of Country Music." Married at age 13, she began writing and singing her own songs in her early 20s. With the help of her husband, Loretta moved from local honky-tonks to stardom and eventually befriended her idol Patsy Cline.
