In the early 1960s while the U.S. races against Russia to put a man into space, NASA finds untapped talent in a team of female African-American mathematicians who serve as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in American history. Based on the true life stories of three of the women known as "human computers", the film follows them as they quickly rise in the ranks of NASA, alongside many of history's greatest minds. Their specific task: calculating the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and guaranteeing his safe return! Feel free to bring along your own beverages.
