Journey with us as we explore the history and heritage of Lee County and the small hamlet of Serbin, located just south of Giddings. We will begin with a tour of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, one of the "painted" churches of Texas, followed by a visit to the Wendish Historical Museum for a look into the story of the Wends from eastern Germany. Our lunch will be provided by the ladies of this little community and will include sausage, sauerkraut, noodles, beets, dill pickles, fresh bread, tea or coffee and a fruit dessert. Following lunch, we will meet with a Lee County historian for a photo op at the Lee County Courthouse. Then, we'll visit the Schubert-Fletcher House, home of the Lee County Heritage Center, and we'll finish with tales of outlaws, gunslingers and a taste from the Texas Bourbon Trail.
