Sign Ups Begin Today
for the Wildfire Community Preparedness Day
Submitted by the Sun City Texas Firewise Group
Each year, the Firewise Group, Property & Grounds Committee, and the CA, sponsor the Annual Wildfire Community Preparedness Day to maintain certain common areas as part of ongoing Firewise Program. We will start at the Social Center Ball Room with registration plus coffee and donuts at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a.m. a short safety briefing and work assignments will be held. Groups will fan out to remove small Ashe junipers (cedar), dead fall, and trash in selected areas near the Social Center.
Closed toe shoes are required. Long pants, gloves, and shirts with long sleeves are highly recommended. Bring your hand-held pruners and limb loppers clearly marked with your name. No tools? Come out and help remove trash! We will work until about 11:30 am and then gather back at the Ball Room for a lunch of brats, hotdogs, chips and beverages as a reward for your service.
