Camp Hearne was a World War II prisoner-of-war camp developed after the 1942-43 U.S. troop buildup. Ships carrying our soldiers to the European theater returned to the U.S. with an estimated 500,000 prisoners-of-war. This site held 40,000 prisoners and outlines Camp Hearne's original footprint.  An incredible exhibit depicts daily life for the Camp's prisoners in a reconstructed U.S. Army barrack at the site.

The Museum of the American G.I. is home to one of our country's finest collections of restored WWII-era military vehicles including a WWII Sherman tank and M18 Hellcat.  Here you'll see an extensive collection of WWI and WWII propaganda posters and uniforms worn by American servicemen and women. The museum also houses the award-winning Texas Vietnam Heroes Exhibit, which features 3,417 personalized dog tags honoring Texans who were killed or went missing during the Vietnam War.

Lunch will be on your own in College Station.

Ticket includes transportation, guided tours and museum entrance fee. Maximum tickets: 50
