Based on Ron Chernow’s biography Alexander Hamilton, this is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was also the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. In 2016 Hamilton was nominated for a record setting 16 Tony nominations and winner of 11 awards including Best Musical along with the Grammy for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. As the story goes, while on vacation, Lin-Manuel Miranda read a copy of the book Alexander Hamilton and began planning the musical featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R & B and traditional music supported by an ethnic cast. Hamilton is the story of America then, as told by America now, and this North American touring production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical masterwork won the 2018 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite Tour.
