More than a house of books, this architectural masterpiece captures the creative spirit of Austin from its floating staircases to its rooftop garden. Following lunch, self-guided tours: The Susanna Dickinson House – a rubble-rock style home built for the ‘Messenger of the Alamo’; an Eastlake-style cottage, former residence of short story master William Sidney Porter, better known as O'Henry; and our final home, Chateau Bellevue is a stylish castle built for romance and elegance and features French Romanesque arches, beautiful courtyard grounds, ornate hand-carved woodwork and stunning stained glass windows.
