The UT Symphony, led by Maestro Zimmerman since 2006, opens its season tonight, and you won’t want to miss this event. The symphony, consisting of 60-90 top college students of the School of Music, performs in the 700 seat Bates Hall. At this time, all of the repertoire is not known, but the program will feature composer Jennifer Higdon, an active staff member, playing some of her music. The 90 minute program never disappoints. NOTE: There are steps to enter the theater and a long walk to the elevator and stairs. Before the symphony, we will stop at the Arboretum for dinner on your own. Restaurant choices include Bistro Italian, Estancia Brazilian Steakhouse, Zoe’s Kitchen, Blue Baker and Cheesecake Factory. Ticket cost includes transportation and symphony.
