Enjoy a scenic ride through Hill Country back roads to the charming German town of Fredericksburg. First stop is on Main Street where a multitude of wonderful shops beg for browsing and restaurants feature a world of culinary delights. Maps and menu suggestions provided.
Following lunch, we will take a short ride to the Fredericksburg Theater where Emmy-award winning Tea for Three actress Elaine Bromka will take us behind the scenes for a look into the lives of three remarkable women, Lady Bird, Pat & Betty. Portraying the three first ladies at the end of their White House stays, separate vignettes give an overview of the kindly and dutiful Lady Bird Johnson, the welcoming but wounded Pat Nixon, and the chatty and bold Betty Ford. Through recollections that are light without being trivial, we learn of their feelings for their husbands, their opinions of the country and their plans for the future. Tea for Three gives us a story both whimsical and deeply moving, a tale of a remarkable trio in a most unusual job.
