Once you discover this ‘way out of the way place’ for great home-cooked food, you will want to go back! Oscar Store is a family-owned, unique restaurant outside of Temple and you will ask, “How can anyone know about this place?” The family prides itself on good food and good service with room for banquets, reunions and weddings. The restaurant opened in 1934 but was struck by lightning and burned in 2005. The current owner rebuilt and reopened in 2009. Select your entree when you purchase your ticket: chicken fried steak (Oscar’s specialty) OR hamburger steak. Both will be served with twice baked potato, green beans and cherry cobbler for dessert (no substitutions). Ticket cost includes transportation and dinner.
