Recycle and Beyond!Friday, Oct 19. 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. • SCB * Bring your own coffee mug! This town hall is brought to you by Sun City Texas Recycles, a subcommittee of the NRO. Sun City Texas Recycles is a team of residents providing education and resources in Sun City Texas to help residents efficiently and appropriately dispose of waste. Before the presentation begins, please visit the tables of the exhibitors (see list below). The program will include Teresa Chapman, the new Environmental Services Coordinator for Georgetown, who will explain the goals of recycling and how the world wide effort in recycling is evolving. She will talk about Sun City’s use of the yellow bags and recycle carts in comparison to the rest of Georgetown.
Gary Hertel, Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) Manager of the Georgetown Transfer Station, will update us on the proposed Transfer station for Georgetown. He is an expert on what is recyclable. We will also have a member of the Tidwell family talk about their Williamson County Recycle Center and how you can obtain a Hazardous Waste Voucher online. The speakers will be followed by a Q&A panel. Door Prizes: Trash or Recyclable? There will be door prizes. There will be extra door prize tickets for those bring their own coffee cup OR who
bring an item that they don't know whether to recycle or to put in the trash. There will be coffee and donuts will be provided. Bring your own mug!
