SOLD OUT George H.W. Bush Library and Museum – College Station Lunch on your own Wednesday, Jan. 10, $30 pp Depart SCPL 7:30 a.m.; return 4:30 p.m.
Tickets for this event go on sale on Wednesday, Nov. 1 @ 8 a.m. Visit one of the top Texas attractions, the George H.W. Bush Library and Museum, dedicated in November 1997. After undergoing remodeling in 2007, the former President (#41) arrived to the dedication ceremony via parachute jump! Situated on the campus of Texas A&M University, the museum's core exhibits reveal the unique influences and challenges that shaped George Bush's life and presidency. See a WWII Avenger Torpedo Bomber, a section of the Berlin Wall, and replicas of the Situation Room and Camp David office. Have your photo made in the Oval Office! The highlight of our trip will be a special presentation at the Library by David Valdez, a Sun City resident who served as the personal photographer for President Bush including travel with the President to 75 countries and 50 states. David will present his White House photography, answer questions and join us on our self-guided tour of the library. David will share many fascinating first-hand stories of his time with President and Mrs. Bush. After the library and museum tours we will board the bus for a short drive to "restaurant corner" for lunch on your own. Choose from these fine restaurants: Blue Baker, Razoo's, Abuela's, Rosa Cafe or TGI Fridays. Ticket cost includes transportation and admission fees. Volunteer Trip Leader: Jodi Katsafanas |
